Cover for the book & photos from Glen Affric rewilding

I am so grateful to have such a lovely cover done for the book by Saleem Andrew Mcgroarty. I am still in the middle of edits so not much else to say on that front other than say upfront that the blog posts are likely to be sporadic due to it.

Having been back from a rewilding week in Glen Affric, I am hoping to write up a proper blog on it when I get some time. But the book edits take priority. So instead, I’ll share some photos of my week.

I also went on a beaver “hunt” because they were officially released in the catchment area last October and found these traces of them. Clockwise from the top left, a sizeable tree fell by the beavers on Loch Beinn a’ Mheadhoin, a beaver lodge on Loch Affric, a chewed stump, the same beaver lodge from a different angle, a close up of the beaver lodge.

I also got to see the first beaver dam built in the area. It is really exciting to see what the beavers have done and will hopefully continue to do in the area.
